Important Campaign Development: Kerry Accuses Dean of Liking the Yankees

The Gold Standard? This came up on the blogs before, but Kevin Drum looks at it in-depth: The Texas Republican Party Platform. We should abolish social security, withdraw from the UN, and retake the Panama Canal, say these guys. Oh, and abolish the Federal Reserve, returning to the gold standard. That one always cracks me up when it's advocated by whackos on Plastic. Not so much when it's an organization whose members include George W. Bush and Tom DeLay.

How to Watch Joe Lieberman: Slate's Democratic debate drinking game. I won't be playing, since I don't have cable. Instead, I may go to GSC's Oktoberfest event.
