Word of the day: psychoceramics

Posted by Arcane Gazebo at January 8, 2004 2:07 PM Ran into this bit of terminology on The Daily Howler:

I have an (admittedly strange) hobby of collecting “weird tales” as it were, called psychoceramics in some circles, which loosely translated means “the study of crackpots.”

Goodbye law firm!

I have now found my true calling: psychoceramics. Now I have to admit it does sound like a middle school art teacher gone berserk, but the name is not important.

The study of crackpots!! What better place to study than Texas?? We were founded by crackpots! This is very exciting, can I get a doctorate in this field?

I have permanently added psychoceramics to my vocabulary. Say I have a technogeek question- does your blog automatically refresh when you have added a new post? Now that I'm using netcaptor instead of IE I automatically launch the page with my other favorites whenever I launch my Webbrowser but I was wondering if I still need to refresh it manually from time to time

You'll have to refresh it manually.

but of course.

brown, in fact, has a professor of psychoceramics. his name is josiah carberry. you can learn a bit about him here or by googling "josiah carberry" with or without "psychoceramics". i believe you can also email him. (it would be josiah_carberry@brown.edu.)
