But is there hope for Oklahoma?

Apparently not.

UPDATE: I somehow missed this part of the article:

“I think it’s very important for children to know,” Graves said. “If they just believe that they came from some slime in a swamp that’s a whole lot different from being created in the image of God.”

And I thought excessive concern for schoolchildren's self-esteem was supposed to be a liberal failing. It must have been very traumatic for Rep. Graves as a child to learn that he came from some slime in a swamp, but despite this he was able to find a place in the world... in the Oklahoma state legislature.

Don't tell him about 1 Kings 7:23, or he'll be after the math textbooks next. "The fractional part of pi is just a theory! If children believe that irrational numbers occur in nature that's a whole lot different from the universe being created by a rational God."
