Is this the end of zombie Shakespeare?

Experts downplay Phatbot danger
Security experts downplayed the danger of a Trojan horse program named Phatbot that uses peer to peer (P-to-P) technology to create a network of infected zombies for carrying out attacks or spreading malicious code.
I'd rather not ever read an article reporting, in any context, that experts are downplaying the danger of something that creates a network of infected zombies. We all know where that leads.

That said, it is very hard to take seriously something named "Phatbot".

Hmm... The title puts me in the mind of a strange RPG, using perhaps Cthulu or Vampire (i dunno why vampire, it just seems the malkavians might be nice...), where zombie Shakespeare has an army of zombie slaves who do his bidding and lash out at people via play-induced methods... Sorta poorly formed idea, but it's got an essence of strangeness. In any case, it (the title) also reminded me of Read or Die (Read or Dream?). Have you been able to watch the TV series of that yet? I know you were the one who recommended the original series, which was awesome. :)

Oh yeah, and I agree about Phatbot... what a stupid name.

Yeah, that sounds very Read or Die now that I think about it. (I didn't know there was a TV series, so I'll definitely have to look into it.) The post title is actually a Simpsons quote.

You know, I'm beginning to think your zombie references are deliberate! I will not even attempt to read that article- who the hell thought up that analogy? First networks, then unions, then it's all over...

Well, I don't have a Google News Alert for "zombies" set up, if that's what you're asking. But maybe I should -- I don't want to be the last one to know if there's an outbreak.

Now zombie unions are a frightening thought. It's hard enough to raise a loyal army of the undead without bringing organized labor into it.

...or, uh, so I'm told.
