If you can read this, I have successfully updated the page using my cell phone. This is of course a vital part of my March Meeting preparations.

well, I cut an older version of my talk from 36 slides to 18 and even added a page of the stuff currently in progress in the process...I need to figure out what else to cut...I'm going to ignore their advice and do this directly via computer and will probably be finishing this the night before I speak (if not during the talks earlier in the session)

What would be really impressive is if I could take data for inclusion in my talk during the earlier talk in the session. This would actually be possible if (a) we had a sample to measure, (b) we cooled the sample down already, and (c) the location of the session has wireless Internet. Sadly, at least (a) and (b) have not come to pass. Maybe next year.

Someone actually did that at AGU this year: Moscone Center--added data their grad students had just collected in, um, Montana, maybe, to their talk, about 3 hours before giving it. (AGU requires that talks be submitted the session before (so the am before if you're in a pm session, etc.), which leads to fascinating typos.)

So, the geologists are ahead of the physicists for once...
