Friday Catblogging: Abandoment

Posted by Arcane Gazebo at October 1, 2004 6:43 PM

I haven't seen this cat in two weeks. I was obviously inadequate, and it has moved on to people who treat it better.

I have a few photos I haven't used yet, but it's too sad to keep posting them. So this may be the last catblogging entry.

"Write for The Tech or we'll strangle this cat."

Ah, the good old days.

Of course, my hotel has free internet access in the rooms and wifi with great reception in the lobby, so the current days are good here.

I'm doing some work on my computer---preparing my talk for Monday (I didn't have time to make any slides while still home) and a prof from U Wash comes up to me and asked me if I'm playing games. I seem to have developed a bit of a reputation here...

There's a game room in the student center where the conference is held that has DDR. More important, it has air hockey, but it's not clear who I can safely ask to play. (I played some Puzzle Fighter on my own today; I wonder if someone noticed.)

Totally off comment, but go see Shaun of the Dead! Ben and I saw that last night. (Yes, I saw Ben for the first time in 5 years. My conference is at UCF in Orlando, so he drove up.)

Shaun of the Dead is definitely on my list. Maybe I'll see it tomorrow...

Shaun of the Dead i'm almost tempted to go see. Tim and Lorian and I gave in the other night and went to see Sky Captain, though. It was really damn cool, I want the DVD of it now, or to go see it again. What's not to like about Giant Robots, Gadgety Fighter Planes and even pretty good dialogue (especially the ending line)?

That's on my list too, but so is grading my exams, preparing lecture, applying for jobs, and writing my grant proposal. (Maybe I'll even have some time for some research.) Oh yeah, all my work is even eating up some baseball time, which _really_ tells you how busy I am right now...
