Flickr post: dilution refrigerator

There was some interest in pictures of equipment I actually use, so I've uploaded a couple of the fridge.

A dilution fridge works by diluting one isotope of helium (helium-3) into another (helium-4), a process which absorbs heat under the right conditions. Excess helium-3 is then pumped off the top of the mixture and run in a closed cycle back into the dilution.
