Friday Catblogging: Rare Event

catblogging - rare event

It's rare for Omen to sit still, but I managed to catch him at it this time. He still looks highly annoyed at being photographed.

The eyes are really striking...

Clemson has the STI, and SMU (where I just was) is going to be getting the Dubya Presidential library in O(5) years. Fuck me. (In defense of the latter situation, the faculty are openly and violently opposed to it, but do I really want to have to pass by either of these homages on a regular basis for a long time? Thinking of either of these people pisses me off as a gut reaction.) Maybe I should just be at Tech for the 2 years and go back on the market completely instead of deferring tenure-track for a year. Maybe I'll get an offer from Ohio State or Sydney (the latter interview hasn't yet materialized, but I have seen indicates it might) and won't have that other problem. Davis is a lost cause---their relevant dean has a policy that offers can't go out to second choices (etc) if the original offers aren't accepted.

Travis, I hope you have an easier time of your future job hunt than I am going through. This is like Rotation on crack.
