Blogging by proxy

I had this collection of things I was going to post today, and then I realized that Making Light already had them all. So just go there and read down the page. In particular, the map of disaster-prone areas in the US, and George W. Bush's impossibly tasteless jokes about Trent Lott's house. (Will people finally realize that he's neither a "good Christian" or a "guy you'd like to have a beer with", but a fucking aristocrat in the grand Louis XVI style?)

I saw the map. I guess we're supposed to live in West Virginia (unless, of course, one gets to block it out just for being West Virginia?). Anyway, I've never actually been there and don't have any opinion on it (except that the map made it a convenient target), but here's a funny/perhaps-offensive-to-some [ :) ] shirt currently being sold on CafePress: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/browse/store/teetastic.11181919

Bush is definitely an aristocrat. Sometimes I feel like I'm waiting for him to take out his violin...

As for impossibly tasteless jokes, I feel like it might be a bit hypocritical for me to nail somebody else for doing that, but being the president of the country does give some (in my understatement of the year) extra responsibility in this respect.
