or, Sometimes I Actually Have A Life.
Here's how I'm spending my non-lab time this week:
Monday: Ladytron with CSS @ The Fillmore
Tuesday: The Hold Steady with Sean Na Na @ Great American Music Hall
Wednesday: Salsa dancing @ Shattuck Down Low
Thursday: Beat Valkyrie Profile 2
Friday: Drive to Los Angeles
Ok, maybe I can fit in some blogging time on Thursday... plus this should give me something to write about. Tomorrow I'll post an open thread with a review of the Ladytron show and their setlist.

And having a life is no excuse for not blogging. :)
Posted by: Mason | October 17, 2006 12:54 AMOh! Tenuous celebrity anecdote moment! The lass from Ladytron apparently used to be in my old department, namely biochemistry, at Oxford. I'm fairly sure that's true; I did possibly just make it up.
Posted by: Narrenschiff | October 17, 2006 4:28 AMHow about you skip the Ladytron review, and instead get a good night's sleep. That way you won't feel bad about staying up late to do a review of the Hold Steady show instead. Eh?

Mason: I have enough trouble talking while dancing, so I assume blogging while dancing would be even more difficult.
Narrenschiff: Wikipedia backs you up, Mira Aroyo apparently has a doctorate in molecular genetics. Hmm, I didn't think of "rock star" as a career path for science PhDs...
Lemming: I was thinking of saving the Hold Steady review for next week's open thread, but I'm sensing that would be an unpopular choice. :)
Posted by: Arcane Gazebo | October 17, 2006 11:46 AMPerhaps as a variation on, "rock out with your cock out", you could, "r0x0r-it out with your doctorate out"?
Careful, AG -- pander to your readers and you start the long slide down the twin slippery slopes of success and depravity. Woo!
Posted by: Lemming | October 17, 2006 1:22 PMAG: Clearly your future lies in rock & roll...
Posted by: Mason | October 17, 2006 11:01 PMMason: It seems to be my destiny to go from the audience to the stage. At least that's what tonight's events indicate. (A post on this is forthcoming.)
Posted by: Arcane Gazebo | October 18, 2006 12:30 AMSuccessful anticipation! :)
By the way, I am now available during the day on Saturday (after noon), as I no longer am needed to chair or judge my SURF session. Thus, I'll be departing after my students are done (well, maybe technically following the free lunch right after that---though I am willing to skip the lunch).
